Maggie Dwernychuk created Stride Fitness to provide a FUN and EFFECTIVE way for everyone to get the exercise necessary for optimal health. Our goal at Stride Fitness is to help create a healthier Okanagan by educating and inspiring individuals to increase their fitness one step at a time.
Maggie has always enjoyed walking for fitness. She learned about Nordic Pole Walking while recovering from a running injury and was immediately taken with being able to achieve total body fitness while walking. In addition to Nordic Walking, Maggie also enjoys the challenge of Nordic Running. Maggie is passionate about sharing her knowledge and skill with individuals of all ages and abilities to assist them in reaching their health and fitness goals. She is an International Nordic Walking Association certified instructor, and has completed her BCRPA Personal Trainer certification. Maggie believes that in addition to improving our health and wellness, engaging in regular physical activity is often a catalyst for us to excel in all areas of our lives!Stride Fitness teaches the original Nordic Walking technique, advanced techniques, and variations that provide maximum stability and reduced impact. For effective upper body engagement and core training we recommend using a pole with a specifically designed Nordic Walking strap system. Pole Walking, first introduced in Finland in the 1930's, has evolved into a very popular North American fitness activity. Stride Fitness endeavours to promote Nordic Pole Walking in the Kelowna area of British Columbia, and invites you to join our Nordic Pole Walking classes.
We offer Pole Walking expertise, instruction from basic to advanced levels, and name brand Nordic walking poles and accessories. We will help you every step of the way, making it a fun activity where you can improve your health while doing something you enjoy.
